Interview with Maria Tehuti

Hello Everyone!

We are delighted to have author Maria Tehuti amongst us today at Musikdiv India Online Magazine at our Special ‘Authors Festival’ interview series to tell us about her book I Love It! A Spiritual Guide for Lesbians, Gays and Transgenders !
Please read on …

The loving and compassionate ideas behind and contained in Maria Tehuti’s
“I Love It! A Spiritual Guide for Lesbians, Gays and Transgenders” came to her in a surreal dream in Vienna. Shortly after waking, she knew she had to write these words and affirmations down.
We are fortunate that she did, for her words are laced with wisdom and goodness, as well as a dose of humor. She sees the world as a wonderful place, so much so that we start to see it that way as well. Her love for the Creator of Life shines through these pages, and we readers—confused or scared or hidden away though we may be—realize that her mighty love for Him is but a fraction of His love for all of us.
Upon feeling His love reflected through Tehuti’s words, we then understand that the world is a much more beautiful and accepting place than we’d imagined. Whether we are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered or straight as a line, we can seek and find comfort in Tehuti’s compassionate affirmations and her unyielding reminders that we—and everything we know, love and become—will be just fine.
So hold this small book tightly in your hands, for it is much bigger than it seems.

So Maria, we’ll start your Interview with the very first question

1.Please introduce and tell the readers something about yourself.

My name is Maria Tehuti. Author of “I Love It! A Spiritual Guide for Lesbians, Gays and Transgenders.”
I am also a mother, an artist, a writer and a student of life.

2.What brought you to writing?

The desire to spice up my teenage life led me to writing poems, songs and short stories.

3.How long have you been writing?

Since my teen years.

4.Which was your first literary project?Tell us something about it.

My first literacy project was a poem. I didn’t know how to express my love for a young boy, so I wrote my thoughts as a poem I never handed to him.

5.Is this your new/latest project?

No. I am completing my sixth book at the moment.

6.Traditional books or e-books? How do you prefer to see your works published? Have you tried ever publishing the traditional way?

I have no preference when it comes to seeing my work published. My first book “Motherhood in Taiwan” has been published the traditional way by Book Guild Publishing. My following four books were self-published as eBooks.

7.Can you give a chapter sample preview of your book here for our readers to know more about it.

My book is composed of twenty short advices and affirmations intended to uplift and encourage. Here are of three of them.
( Please look at the bottom of the interview for book excerpts )

8.What are your hobbies?Things that you enjoy doing besides books of course.

Dancing and watching funny movies.

9.Who is your favourite author?

Paulo Coelho

10.What is your favourite genre to read and also to write?

I enjoy reading and writing spiritual books.

11.Do you have a role model that you get inspiration from?

12.Where do get your ideas from?Do you take your story ideas from real life situations?

My ideas come from the experiences I’ve made and insights provided by my guardian angels and the Creator of life.

13.Do you have a pseudonym?

14.Whats your experience been like in the publishing industry?Positive or negative? Please share your experience with our readers.

My first book was published last year in march 2011. The four other books were published last month in december 2011. I’ve had good feed-back and several requests to publish my eBooks as paperbacks. I enjoy been a self-publisher now because I am fully involved in the entire publishing process.

15.Where do you see yourself 10years from now?

Too premature to say as life is a synonym for constant change.

16.What motivates you to write?

The idea that my book has the potential to change someone’s life for the better.

17.How important is good cover art for your books?

A cover is an invitation. If it looks repelling your invitation might be rejected. Yet, if it looks enticing your guest will want to feast on your words.

18.How does it make you feel when you read a bestselling book that you don’t feel is as good as yours?

I know that everything moves in cycles. Hence, I know that my time will come as well.

19.Why do you think readers should buy your book? What can you offer them through your book?

Members of the Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender (LGBT) community are invited to read my book because it was written by a heterosexual person who connected with them in the dream state. As surreal as it sounds, the idea for this book came to me right after I dreamt that I was meditating, chanting and praying with a group from the LGBT community. This book is the proof that the Creator doesn’t judge and loves all His children. This book will offer comfort, insights and compassionate affirmations for most life situations a member of the LGBT family could be confronted with.

20.Where is your book available?Any Buy Link for our readers?

23.Anything else you’d like to share with our readers

We are all one.

I Love It! A Spiritual Guide for Lesbians, Gays and Transgenders By Maria Tehuti

    Gender Transformation
Beloved one, you have made up your mind about undergoing a series of surgical operations to go from male to female or female to male.
Let me start by saying that every atom, molecules, cell and tissue of your magnificent body were crafted with love and perfection. You are perfect. Perfect according to what your soul has chosen as a life purpose in the body you have been born into. Only that body can and will assist you in learning all that you need to learn. Only that body will help you experience your unique experience on Earth, an experience that will bring you one step closer to your self-knowledge and self-mastery.
Having said that, be aware that your path will not be less spiritual if you undergo this surgical operation. The Creator of life has granted us with free will. If it is your will to transform, so be it. Your will be done. No angel or saint will come and smack you on your head. On the contrary, you will receive additional insights and guidance on how to adjust in this time of change and beyond.

I love myself more and more each day.
I love myself more and more each day.
I love myself more and more each day.

    Coming Out
The Creator of life wants His children to be happy, free and balanced.
God has given you a mind to discern for yourself what you need and don’t need. On top of that, He has given us ‘free will’, a vital gift to help us live our much-desired version of reality.
It is only necessary to come out of your closet if you no longer feel comfortable in it. By definition, a closet is a narrow, closed space for storage of clothes and other belongings. It was not intended as a living space for a human being. It is, therefore, normal and natural that one who lives in a closet will sooner, rather than later, have the desire to break out and seek his or her freedom.
If you feel it is your time to come out, may your will be done.
God is not ashamed of you, so why should you be ashamed of yourself?
Divine Source, thank You for creating me at a time when not being a heterosexual is more tolerated than in the past.
Divine Source, help me to make the right decisions in all situations.

    God Loves You
How wonderful it would be to have imprinted in the depths of your being, the knowledge that no matter which situation you are in, God is by your side.
You have likely experienced negativity coming from your family, “friends”, entourage and religious community. How often have you heard that you will go to hell or God does not like “your kind” or that you are sick and need prayers to be ‘healed’?
It is vital for a God-loving lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender to know, understand and believe that God will not send you to hell. He wants each and everyone of us by His side, not in some horrible environment. God is your divine Mother and Father and no all-loving, all-knowing and all-powerful parent could send his beloved son or daughter to the gas chamber or electric chair for eternity!
God sees your efforts and your struggle, and He hears your prayers. He knows that you love Him and want to serve Him even better. So why would He, after having held your hand all your life, send you to hell when you die? Why would He do this? Simply because you have different preferences than the masses? It makes no sense.
This nightmarish fairytale was only invented by humans who serve fear, not God. True servants of God help their brothers and sisters by encouraging them and not by scaring them to death. True servants of God know that the Father made one child different from the other and that He loves all His children just the same.
Due to this fairytale, or should I say this horror story, some people do not fully live their lives. Some are afraid of God. Some are afraid to die and not be in the presence of God. Beloved one, hell is a state of mind and it becomes a physical reality only when we harm ourselves and others.
Spread the word: You are not disgusting in God’s eyes.
    Y O U A R E G O D ’S B E L O V E D C H I L D
The Creator of Life loves all of us. Do not allow anyone to convince you otherwise.
I give thanks and praises to the Most High for loving me just the way I am.
